The lightning-caused Yosemite Creek, Boundary Peak and South Fork fires have been declared out. The remote Wheel Fire, near Glen Aulin, will be looked over by helicopter flights although no smoke has been reported in a number of days from this fire.

Haze and smoke from numerous regional fires are impacting air quality within Yosemite National Park. The most visible haze is from the Washington Fire near Lake Tahoe. For additional information concerning smoke from these and other California fires:

Beginning Friday June 26, thunderstorms and high temperatures are predicted for the weekend. There is a chance of dry lightning (little precipitation) Friday and Saturday. Everyone is advised to use caution with all camp fires, and to be sure fires are out before departing.

Next week begins the 4th of July Holiday. A reminder: Fireworks, of any kind, are prohibited within the park.
