As of last night 75% of the "Upper" fire was contained. An estimated 4 acres have burned. Suppression efforts will continue through the next few days until this fire is out, including helicopter operations.
All trails to Yosemite Falls are temporarily closed from the Valley and from various trial heads above Yosemite Creek. There are large diameter logs directly on the trail that continue to smolder and firefighters are taking action on these.
Light smoke was observable in the Valley this morning. Smoke may be seen from other high elevation locations, particularly Glacier Point and Sentinel Dome areas.
