A Yosemite Valley wide power outage will occur on Thursday May 5th, 2016. This will be a 12 consecutive hour outage from 0700-1900 (7:00am-7:00pm) to replace critical equipment in the valley sub station.

I think they'll be outdoors, enjoying the scenery. Maybe a picnic would be in order.

stupid questions.... does this effect the grocery store in the valley? or their restaurants? cell phone service in any way? (i will be there May 4-5th.).

Yes to all except cell service might be okay.

I assume they'll bring in generators to keep the refrigerators at the stores and restaurants going?

Probably to keep the cash registers going strong too.

New concessionaire so questions may be valid for exactly what will be open and available.

When we arrived to start the JMT the power was out in the valley, due to a fire. Got a handwritten permit. Plus our plans of having Curry pizza were dashed...closed because of the outage.
