"Fishers in the Sierra Nevada: General Ecology and Response to Forest Management"
by Dr. Craig Thompson, U.S. Forest Service
Fishers are native forest carnivores that have received a significant amount of recent attention from conservationists, regulators, and land managers in the western US. In this talk, Dr. Thompson will provide background information on this elusive species and summarize results from eight years of intense local research and monitoring. He will also outline some of the threats to the species and cover what land managers in the Sierra Nevada are doing in response.
The Forum will take place Tuesday, May 10, from 3:30 to 4:30 pm in the Yosemite Valley Auditorium. Please contact Ami Knighten at 379-1301 for additional information.
