Upper Pines is closed today for the resurfacing of the campground roads. North Pines will be closed tomorrow, June 22 for the resurfacing of the campground roads.

Backpacker Camp will remain open via the bike trail from Mirror Lake, the horse trail behind the stables or the bike path from the Majestic.

Thanks for the update (not that I'm anywhere near YNP right now or for the foreseeable future). But I want to take the opportunity to raise a pet peeve: please do not refer to the Ahwahnee as "The Majestic" whatever. I don't give a rat's rear end what the NPS and Aramark have decided to call it until the litigation with Delaware North (and the parallel trademark cancellation proceeding before the Patent & Trademark Office) is concluded. It's the Ahwahnee, and no bad-faith attempt by DNC to hijack that name is going to change it. Ditto for Curry Village, Yosemite Lodge and The Wawona Hotel. Playing along with DNC's shenanigans only helps give them the win, especially in a forum like this where DNC doesn't have any putative TM rights.

hear, hear. and how is anyone supposed to plan to ride the Aramark expensive bus to TM at the 'new' departure places when valley maps still show the 'old' names? no, stop, enough!

FWIW, when I visited in early June, the "Yosemite Guide", that newspaper-like brochure you can pick up on the way into the park, had the new names, and apparently has since March 1. See https://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/upload/yg16-3.pdf or https://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/upload/yg16-5.pdf or https://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/upload/yg16-6.pdf, and compare to the last pre-Aramark "Yosemite Guide", https://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/upload/yg16-2.pdf.

I don't recall if the map in the park brochure showed the new names, but the online version still has The Ahwahnee etc.: https://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/maps.htm

The park brochure/map I got last weekend still had the old names on it. The entrance was closed but there is a box outside where you can get the Guide and the brochure/map so maybe the brochure/map that you get when the entrances are opened have the new names on it. Or maybe they decided to use the old ones until they are all gone and then will have new ones.

Makes sense, especially since there's no TM infringement in the NPS using the names in question on maps, and with the NPS needing more funds, why waste them on new brochures before the existing ones are gone?

At any rate, I like to think of these names as "temporary names" rather than "new names". I'm confident than when the dust settles, the names of these hotels will revert back to what they were until March 1 of this year.

Keep in mind that Curry Village was called Camp Curry once upon a time.

Our family just referred to it as simply Curry, Badger Pass as Badger and Yosemite Lodge as just the Lodge. Short and sweet.

Technically I think it is still TM infringement. I am thinking this because once the name change went through, the park removed all of the maps of the ski runs because they had Badger Pass Ski Area on them.
