"Creating resilient forests as climate changes" by Dr. Malcolm North, U.S. Forest Service, Pacific Southwest Research Station
How will Sierra Nevada forests respond to changing climate conditions, increasingly severe drought, and high-intensity wildfire? This talk will examine the ecological lessons - revealed by research and past management practices - that can help create greater forest resiliency. Resilient forests provide important wildlife habitat, beneficial fire, and ecosystem services that support "healthy" ecosystems.
The Forum will take place Tuesday, August 9, from 3:30 to 4:30 pm in the Yosemite Valley Auditorium.
