...Winter storm watch in effect from wednesday evening through
Friday evening above 6000 feet...

The national weather service in hanford has issued a winter storm
Watch above 6000 feet...Which is in effect from wednesday evening
Through friday evening.

* snow accumulations...1 to 2 feet with up to 3 feet possible along
The crest from yosemite np to kings canyon np. 2 to 6 inches
Possible down to 5000 feet.

* timing...Snow will begin by wednesday evening and spread southward
Through thursday. Snow will become heavy at times...Especially
Thursday night and friday.

* impacts...Possible travel delays and chain controls. Strong winds
Will lead to blowing snow...Reduced visibility...And possible
Power outages.

* winds...Southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A winter storm watch means there is a potential for significant
Snow, sleet, or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
Continue to monitor the latest forecasts.

...Winter storm warning remains in effect from 4 am thursday to
10 pm pst friday above 6000 feet...

* locations...Southern sierra nevada from yosemite national park
To kings canyon above 6000 feet.

* hazard types...Heavy snow and blowing snow.

* snow accumulations...8 to 12 inches.

* timing...Snow will begin by early thursday morning and spread
Southward thursday afternoon. Snow will become heavy at
Times... Especially thursday night through friday evening.

* impacts...The heavy snow will make many roads impassable and
May produce widespread power outages due to the weight of the
Snow on tree limbs and power lines. Strong winds will lead to
Blowing snow...Reduced visibility...And additional power
Outages.

* winds...South 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A winter storm warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
Conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
Are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an
Emergency. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food,
And water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
