In search of giant sequoias

Thinking about stopping by Nelder Grove on the way to Yosemite from San Fran as a way to quench the thirst for seeing some giant sequoias since Mariposa grove is closed. Should we make the 2 hour detour or no?

I needz to go to Nelder one of these years...

and go to top of Fresno Dome...

I heard Bear Grylls back flipped off a helicopter into a lake
near there and did an epic climb of the dome and then
a front face rap off the top...

and then probably ate at Sizzlers

Yea something like that. Just like he and President Obama took a salmon away from a bear...

Which by the way would be illegal to take food away from a wild animal.
And by the way, the glacier river from Exit Glacier they were at near Seward. There are no salmon.
But I'm sure the local grocery store in Seward was fully stocked.
