The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
Snowmelt in...
Southern Mono County in northern California...

* Until 215 PM PDT Wednesday

* Prolonged high temperatures will increase snowmelt in high
elevation basins of Mono County where significant deep snow is
still abundant. Streamflows are expected to increase each day
through the weekend and into early next week.

* Minor flooding is likely along creeks and streams in these areas
this weekend and into next week.

* Flows are expected to reach peaks similar or in excess of previous
high flows.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

* Most streams will peak during the night or early morning hours, be
cautious near the water and don`t camp close to streams.

...THE MERCED RIVER AT POHONO BRIDGE IS FORECAST TO REACH
FLOOD STAGE SUNDAY NIGHT...

The combination of above normal temperatures and rapidly
melting snow over the higher elevations of the Sierra during
the next several days will bring an increase in water levels
and flows along rivers and streams.

The California-Nevada River Forecast Center is forecasting the
upper Merced River in Yosemite National Park to crest just
above flood stage at Pohono Bridge by late Sunday night.

Visitors to Yosemite National Park should closely monitor
NOAA Weather Radio, social media and other media sources
for updated forecasts, Flood warnings and Flood statements
for the upper Merced river.
