The Creek Fire was started by lightning on 9/3/17 when a strong thunderstorm cell moved through the area. The Creek Fire is located in the Bourland area of Mi Wok Ranger District on the Stanislaus National Forest. Full suppression tactics are being utilized on this fire with indirect strategy due to a lack of resources available on the forest and throughout the region. A closure is in place for the Creek Fire on Forest Road 3N29C at the intersection of 3N29, and for trailhead 19E12 off of Rock Creek at the 3N22Y Road intersection.
