...WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY AFTERNOON
THROUGH MONDAY EVENING ABOVE 5000 FEET...

* WHAT...Heavy snow above 5000 feet. Total snow accumulations
through the weekend up to 5 feet. Winds could gust as high as 70
mph along the crest. Snow levels will start out Friday afternoon
around 7000 feet and drop to around 5000 on Saturday. Snow
levels will drop below 4000 feet Sunday night and Monday.

* WHERE...Sierra Nevada from Yosemite to Kings Canyon and Tulare
County Mountains.

* WHEN...From Friday afternoon through Monday evening. There will
be a break in the snow on Sunday. Heavy snow will return on
Sunday afternoon and continue through Monday evening.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel could be very difficult to
impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning
or evening commute. Very strong winds could cause extensive
damage to trees and power lines.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Watch means there is potential for significant
snow that may impact travel. Continue to monitor the latest
forecasts.

...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
LATE SATURDAY NIGHT...

* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Potential accumulations 15 to 30
inches above 7000 feet and west of Highway 395. Up to 1 foot
possible down to 6000 feet. Winds could gust as high as 70 mph
over ridges.

* WHERE...Greater Lake Tahoe Area and Mono County.

* WHEN...From Friday afternoon through late Saturday night.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel could be very difficult. The
hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commute and
skier traffic into the resorts. An additional storm Sunday into
Monday could bring another round of heavy snows and travel
issues.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Now is the time to prepare an emergency kit for your home and
car. If traveling consider alternate plans, remember to carry
tire chains, extra food, water and clothing. Once the storm
arrives, travel may be difficult or impossible for an extended
period of time.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM PST THIS
EVENING THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* A portion of central California, including the following
areas, Mariposa, Madera, and Fresno County Foothills, Sierra
Nevada from Yosemite to Kings Canyon, Tulare County Foothills,
and Tulare County Mountains.

* From 10 PM PST this evening through Saturday evening.

* Heavy rain totaling from 2 to as much as 4 inches may lead to
excessive runoff, rising water levels on area rivers and
streams and a threat of flash flooding. Additionally, mud
slides, rock slides and debris flows are possible in some
locations, especially in the vicinity of the Ferguson,
Railroad and Pier burn scars. Some roads may become closed,
impassable, or washed out.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued. If you live in a flood
prone area, this would be a good time to review an emergency
escape plan in the event high water or a debris flow threatens
your home.
