Roads closed

Due to heavy snow accumulation and tree failures, highway 120 and highway 41 are closed within Yosemite National Park. This is a hard closure and will remain in effect until conditions change allowing for safe opening. Highway 140 will remain open as conditions allow, but could close on short notice.

I'm hoping to go up this weekend. Hope they get everything squared away before then.

Forecast for Yosemite Valley:

• Friday: A 30 percent chance of snow after 4pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 41. South wind 5 to 10 mph.
• Friday Night: Snow, mainly after 10pm. Low around 27. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
• Saturday: Snow likely before 11am, then snow showers likely after 11am. Cloudy, with a high near 39. South southwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.
• Saturday Night: A chance of snow showers before 10pm, then a chance of snow after 10pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 31. South wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
• Sunday: A 50 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 41. South southwest wind around 10 mph.
• Sunday Night: A 30 percent chance of snow, mainly before 4am. Cloudy, with a low around 30. South wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.
