The Chowchilla Mountain Road is once again open to the public. Wawona Roads has completed repairs to the damaged section inside the park. The road is still a rough dirt road and only four-wheel drive vehicles with high clearance are recommended. The section of the road just outside the park boundary to the West in Sierra NF is still very rough with deep ruts.
