...FIRE WEATHER WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY AFTERNOON
THROUGH MONDAY AFTERNOON FOR GUSTY WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY FOR THE
SIERRA FRONT AND WEST-CENTRAL NEVADA BASIN AND RANGE...

* Changes...None.

* Affected Area...Fire Zone 273 Mono and Eastern Alpine
Counties, Fire Zone 450 Western Nevada Sierra Front, Fire Zone
453 West Central Nevada Basin and Range and Fire Zone 459
Mineral and Southern Lyon Counties.

* Winds...A strong cold front is expected to bring southwest to
west wind gusts between 30 and 45 mph starting Sunday afternoon
and lasting through Monday afternoon. Areas along and south of
Highway 50 and east of Highway 395 may not see widespread
critical wind conditions until Monday.

* Humidity...falling to 8 to 15% Sunday afternoon, with poor to
moderate recoveries possibly persisting through Sunday night.
Humidities will begin increasing north of Highway 50 Monday.

* Duration...at least 6 hours, possibly up to 12 hours Sunday
and Sunday night. A lesser duration is possible south of
Highway 50 and east of Highway 395.

* Impacts...The combination of gusty winds and low humidity can
cause fire to rapidly grow in size and intensity before first
responders can contain them.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Avoid outdoor activities that can cause a spark near dry
vegetation, such as yard work, target shooting, or campfires.
Follow local fire restrictions. Check weather.gov/reno for
updates and livingwithfire.info for preparedness tips.
