Upcoming Closures On The Mist Trail And John Muir Trail

Mist Trail closure for railing installation:

• Trail closed from lower Mist Trail - John Muir Trail junction to the brink of Vernal Fall (Vernal Fall viewing platform)
• Use the John Muir Trail instead.
• Monday, October 21 - Thursday, October 24
• Monday, October 28 - Thursday, October 31
• 7:30 am to 3 pm each day
• Open Friday through Sunday during the construction period

John Muir Trail closure for Nevada Fall footbridge repair:

• Trail closed from Nevada Fall restroom to the Panorama Trail - John Muir Trail junction
• To reach Little Yosemite Valley and beyond, use the Clark Point cutoff trail (winter trail)
• Monday, October 21 - Friday, October 25
• Monday, October 28 - Friday, November 1
• 7:00 am to 4:30 pm each day
• Open Saturday and Sunday during the construction period

Any idea if this is upgrade/replacement/repair of existing railing, or installation of new railing where there has been none to date?

I was wondering that myself. But haven't found any more than what I posted.

The Mist Trail project is finished (mostly) and the trail is now open.

The John Muir Trail closure remains in effect:

• Trail closed from Nevada Fall restroom to the Panorama Trail - John Muir Trail junction. To reach Little Yosemite Valley and beyond, use the Clark Point cutoff trail (winter trail).
• Monday, October 21 - Friday, October 25
• Monday, October 28 - Friday, November 1
• 7:00 am to 4:30 pm each day
• Open Saturday and Sunday during the construction period
