The Tuolumne Meadows, Big Oak Flat and Wawona Wilderness Centers are now closed for the season and there is no overnight parking allowed anywhere (including side roads and parking lots) along the Tioga or Glacier Point Roads. Backpackers can self register for permits for the Tioga Road trailheads on the front porch of both the TM and BOF stations. Backpackers can self register for Wawona trailheads on the front porch of Hills Studio. For permits starting from the Yosemite Valley trailheads, visitors must pick up a permit from the Valley Wilderness Center until October 20 and from the Valley Visitor Center after October 20. For permits starting from the Hetch Hetchy trailheads, visitors must pick up a permit from the HH Entrance station.
