Royal Arches Meadow Restoration Through Mid-November

The Royal Arches Meadow Restoration project, located east of Backpacker's Campground, will continue through mid-November. To improve altered hydrology, heavy equipment was used to remove abandoned infrastructure and obliterate and old road located south of the meadow that was used to access the former Camp 9 Campground (closed in 1997, after the 100-year flood). To improve native wetland vegetation, crews removed small conifers from the area to open up the meadow edge. Revegetation crews are now planting and seeding the obliterated road area with native wetland plants. Pedestrians nearby should anticipate minor traffic along the bike path.
