Day pass help.
July 13, 2020 09:58PM
In need of some help if possible.

I have been talking to the wife about visiting Yosemite for years. I have been busy working away to make sure the kids and wife are well.

I finally book a trip 30 days back and did not realize Yosemite is issuing day passes and they are all sold out.

Needless to say, I had my heart set on this trip and I was genuinely sad when I found out.

Is there any place I can add my name on a list for cancellations? Is there any other way?

I figured if anyone would know it would be someone on this website.

Thank you for your help.

20% of day use passes are released 2 days prior. You must enter the park on the date mentioned on your pass and then your pass is valid for 7 days

What nwhkr said.
Also, very important:
Reservations will go quickly; be sure to have an account, be logged in and ready to get a reservation promptly at 7 am Pacific time.
Cancelled reservations become available immediately on recreation.gov.

Maybe take a bus in? The only problem is that it might be full. I understand that they give the highest priority to those transferring from Amtrak although I can't seem to book anything right now.

Maybe a commercial tour bus?

What did you book specifically? If you have a reservation inside the park you won't need a day use reservation. This includes a rental at Wawona, Yosemite West, or Foresta. Yosemite West is technically outside the park, but the only road access is through the park.
