The Badger Pass A-frame is open and staffed 7 days/week by Wilderness staff to answer questions and issue backcountry Wilderness permits. Please note that the following snow condition report was written prior to this week's storm. Call 372-0408 for current ski/snow conditions.

Snow conditions: Snow coverage on the Nordic Route system around Badger Pass continues to be good, although bare patches of ground are starting to appear and grow. All trails have been broken (which means there are tracks already following the markers). Conditions are firm to icy in the morning, but ski touring has been good from late morning through the afternoon. By the end of the day the snow is quite soft. Glacier Point Road is groomed all the way to Glacier Point with ski tracks from Badger Pass to the top of the switchbacks above Glacier Point. Some bare patches of pavement can be expected near Clark Range View. Composting toilets are open for use at Summit Meadow, #21 Bridalveil Creek Ski Trail, Sentinel Dome Parking, and Glacier Point. The Glacier Point cabin remains closed for the season.

Remember to bring cross country skis or snowshoes (or rent them from the Nordic Center) if you plan to come up to explore the Wilderness around Badger Pass. Nordic ski routes are intended for ski or snowshoe travel only. Please never walk or hike on the ski trails as post hole damage (however shallow) is long lasting and presents real hazards to all other winter recreators.
