Re: Tioga Road plowing

Plowing began on April 15. As of April 22, plows have reached Tenaya Lake. However, we expect several feet of new snow along the entire road due to the storm on April 22–23.

The eastside of 120 has opened from Highway 395 to the Tioga Pass gate. (Yesterday.)

I am traveling to your beautiful country with my wife and have to pass through Yosemite on May 15 of this year.
I don't have too many hopes of seeing Tioga Road open for next Sunday, but do you think the 108 (Sonora Pass) can be opened?
I'm looking for information about this all over the internet but I really can't find much information...

This will save us a very big detour and above all, we dream of taking this road...

I doubt that Sonora Pass, or Ebbetts Pass on Highway 4, will be open by the 15 of May. But you can check this quite easily via the California Highway conditions website:

They are not hopeful for May 15...mainly because we are getting another storm right now. The snow levels are quite low, but the storms still make the roads difficult to plow. They don't like to plow them multiple times each spring.

I had already seen this site, but nothing on Sonora.
I read that Sonora usually opens a fortnight before Tioga and that they wanted to open Tioga for May 30...
So I was hoping that on the 15th it might be possible...

I'm going to have to take such a big detour, it's going to ruin my day in Yosemite.

I leave Sonora in the very early in the morning, so 2 hours to go to the Yosemite Valley, but I sleep in Bridgeport at night, so if I can't cross the Sierra, it's very complicated, I hope at least the opening of the 108...

Yep. Caltrans reports that there are no closures on Highway 108. Sonora Pass is open!
