up there 6/04-6/07, transit x4. 20-minute delay misleading--transit during minimal work period (6-8 am) was 15 minutes. so.. you catch a break and arrive in line just as the pilot car has come to your end and is turning around, your wait is 0 minutes. if the pilot car has just departed before you arrived, your wait time will be 30 minuted. this is during light work period, no stops by pilot car. if you are there during heavy work period, pilot car multiple stops for equipment, transit/wait times will be increased proportionately. note NPS Yosemite website lists transit times, not time spent waiting in line.

be considerate of the poor folks holding up the STOP signs..they're out there in the sun all day, and they didn't design the protocol, which needs some work...

Up June 6-7-8 and13th. One wait was 40 minutes. On June 8 we drove in early...missed the construction stop by just minutes.

Our last wait was 25 minutes, then another stop to wait for oncoming pilot car near the visitor center. Over eight miles on that one... (First day was 3 1/2 miles.)

Yes, it was a learning curve. learned not to stop at Lembert Dome parking for a potty break, then having to wait for the next pilot car!

Also, the flagger/stop person said that the time that Yosemite has on their website and on the signs (which all blew over in the big wind on the 12th,) were incorrect.

bottom line--if possible, transit between 4:30 pm Fri-11:30 pm Sunday, no construction, no pilot car. if NPS website is accurate.
