February 10th at noon in the East Auditorium Please join Russell Bevill for a presentation on the history of the Yosemite Lumber Company and Yosemite Sugar Pine Lumber Company, who operated railroad logging systems in Yosemite National Park, harvesting timber on National Park Service lands from 1913 to 1930. Russell Bevill is an archeologist with URS Corporation who, under contract with the NPS, has documented the remains of these railroad logging systems. Mr. Bevill will present the results of the historical research and field documentation, and discuss the historical significance of the remains.
This presentation is open to both the general public and NPS employees.
