It couldn't hurt to arrive as early as possible. If there's a waiting line, it will be first come, first served.by tothetrail - General Discussion
When I hike the High Sierra Loop last year, the hours varied, they opened in the morning at about 7:00 and then would close up after breakfast and reopen around 4:00 in the afternoon. Most had an assortment of toiletries, candy, and other snacks. Most also had T shirts.by tothetrail - General Discussion
I think the rules state that if you have a site reserved for a certain length trailer, you will not be acommodated if you arrive and it doesn't "fit."by tothetrail - General Discussion
While it might not be necessary, it's another avenue for visitors to receive information about the park. I have experienced several audio tours at museums and such, and even a few at National Park Units and they have been amazing additions to what I would have otherwise learned about. One was at Carlsbad Caverns and one at Alcatraz. It was so cool to hear actual audio accounts of prisoners aby tothetrail - General Discussion

Yes, there are plenty of bear boxes available. I parked near the stables and there was plenty of room in the boxes there. Just be sure that whatever you leave, you can possible do without. Hi JohnStream: Great info, just what I was looking for. And those are awesome pictures. I'll have to take a look at all of your albums. Looks like you had a fantastic trip. I'll definitely take those hiking sticks, I decided to try them on the Kalalau Trail on Kauai a few years ago and I think they saved my life. Now I swear by them!by tothetrail - General Discussion

I am looking to find if anyone has done the loop hike through the High Sierra Camps including Glen Aulin, May Lake, Sunrise, Merced, and Vogelsang, this year. While I realize that this year may be an exception as to previous years, and conditions may change, I will be there at the end of July and I am trying to get a feel for the following, so far: Weather River water levels Mosquitos Noby tothetrail - General Discussion
