This is not an official sledding area, and i don't necessarily recomend it. A lot of people take their young ones to an area by Mirror Lake between bus stop #17 and #18. The bad part is sometimes these kids get too aggressive and shoot across the road, the road where the shuttle buses travel.by ssarka - General Discussion
There are 5 wilderness offices for the park, Valley, Wawona, Tioga, Hetch Hetchy and Big Oak Flat. The trails in the vicinity of those offices receive priority than requests from other areas. So if you want a permit for a Tioga area trail, you should line up outside the Tioga office. People begin lining up between 4 AM and 5 AM. My husband and I have lived in Yosemite West for a year, previously we worked for DNC and lived in the valley. We have noticed some interesting behavior with people. People who visit in the summer are different than people who visit in the winter. Winter people seem to have some wilderness experience and are under less stress to have a perfect vacation. Hi. I work in Yosemite for the concessionar, DNC. This year we are offering a free shuttle from Wawona to the valley, daily. It arrives in the Valley between 9:30 and 10:00. It return at 3:30PM. Perhaps this can help.by ssarka - General Discussion
