I've done Tioga pass twice now, west to east, in a 24'C RV. No problems. Only part remotely unnerving is the long decent down after the pass. No windy curves, mostly straight shot down. As long as you take it slow, in a low gear, it's easy. If you're using the brakes a lot, you're not in a low enough gear. Yes, you'll be going slow, but safe. Regarding the Mist Trail last June, keep in mind that last year was one of the driest years for the Sierras in recent memory, Tioga pass opened on Mother's day weekend. Just saying I wouldn't count on the same conditions on Mist Trail this year in June. Was up in the valley last weekend (May 10/11) and the all the falls were much more impressive than last May. Housekeeping camps are pretty much always booked up weekends in May thorugh the summer. We're going there that weekend (May 11th & 12th) and made reservations 3 months back. But I just checked and there are housekeeping sites available starting Sunday May13th, and tent cabins are available for May 12 onward. You'll at at least be able to walk in for a tent cabin, and if you shoot for Mayby katleman - General Discussion
