Thanks for all the info. So I guess we'll just make sure the car's all cleaned out as well as possible and not park next to any car that is not! The other reason I was asking is we have one car with very dark tinted windows, but horrible gas mileage ... and since it's a long drive for us ... the only reason we'd take that one is if the windows make any significant difference. One question that I can't seem to find any information or answers on ... which maybe means it doesn't really matter much... but might as well ask. We are now going in late June ... so Yosemite Creek won't be open from everything I've read. That limits us to Camp 4 in the valley or Crane Flat or Tamarack Flat as far as FCFS campsites that will be open at that time. Hi, Similar to the previous post on realistic chances of getting a site at FCFS campgrounds. We'd love to do Yosemite Creek in July (actually would like late June but I don't think it's open yet?). But we are coming from orange county with a 7 year old in tow ... and we will be first-time tent campers (and my first visit to Yosemite since I was a kid).
