Well, no news yet from our family up there in Midpines other than that they were evacuated. No news is good news. Because we have been pinging E-mails from the Evac center. Oh, we just had a 5.8 earthquake here in So CA.! Isn't California just fun? Lordy...by SeaWitch - General Discussion
K. so, unless your desperate, or a millionaire... Gas in YNP is obscenely expensive (therefore not on MY map) .. Go the the AM/PM in Oakhurst... best price nearest the entrance.by SeaWitch - General Discussion
Take the 15 towards San Bernardino, to the 10 W, to 210 N of LA... you are going to take the I 5 N, then below Bakersfield the 99 N which will take you to Fresno. 41 N through Fresno, to Oakhurst GAS UP THERE!!! No gas in park. then follow 41 to Yosemite Ntl Park.... (We go there every year... this is the best route for gas/food and ease of road) Have fun... it's smoky, but still nice. Hi, Update on my family on Colorado Rd... Brother at the house with Firefighters. Looks like they are using his home as an outpost/staging area. Sister at shelter. Cell Phone towers blew up and electricity is turned off, so no phones working in the area. All major roads to area hard closed. and looks like CHP closing 140 between Mariposa and El Portal. Anyone visiting Yosemite call aby SeaWitch - General Discussion
Thanks again Louis... so far looks like fire is holding 2 miles from their home. But then again, I don't know how accurate this site is: http://geomac.usgs.gov/ I keep looking, and so far no news is good news. Chao for now Seaby SeaWitch - General Discussion
