I know it is very pedestrian but if you have a limited amount of time you might consider taking the shuttle around the park. You can get off and on anytime you want; and in some ways it is more convenient than driving. I did it one time after I finished a job there and found it kind of fun; also you don’t have to keep an eye on the traffic while you are looking at all the wonders. We were issued the old MSR for years then for my last time in the sandbox we switched to the Katadyn Hiker Water Filter. I liked the old MSR but the Katadyn Hiker Water Filter is less fussy and (though I didn't have to pay) the element is easier to deal with. This was the first time I had sent my Bee off where she would be on her own. I must admit I was like a bear watching her cub go off on its first solo hunt. I could not see the trail up the mountain so I asked the ranger at the trailhead if I would be able to see her when she came out of the trees. He said "Yes, and don't worry, she will be fine."
