Did you log on to ReserveAmerica or Recreation.gov? It's been a long time when you could actually do a federal recreation reservation through the ReserveAmerica website. You have to do it directly through Recreation.gov. They're kind of linked since you can check availability, but then it would send you to Recreation.gov for final booking, and the login is separate. I looked it up, and "The Awahnee" was first trademarked in 1988 by the Yosemite Valley & Curry Company. The address was in Universal City, so it was under the MCA ownership. Then I found Wawona trademarked in 2003 and 2002. "Yosemite Lodge" was trademarked in 2002, but only for a specific logo. Badger Pass was trademarked less than 15 years ago. There are deaths almost every year involving hikers who thought they could handle the heat. That includes people who did bring copious amounts of water. I remember passing through one summer. How do you plan on managing the trade? It's not really possible to transfer reservations to another party after the crackdown on campsite reservation scalping. The trick that the scalpers used was to cancel then immediately try to rebook the site because it went right back into the recreation.gov inventory. Just wondering. It always seems to cause confusion that what's effectively the police at most NPS units are dressed in the same uniforms and have a similar title as non law enforcement personnel. It's gotten to the point where an LE organization wants to make their responsibilities clear on their vehicles with markings that say "LAW ENFORCEMENT" or better yet "POLICE".
