Quotemarkskor Quotemtn man Reminds me of when the Park Service dumped Camp Curry and Co. for that East coast company that snuck by the Park Service the patenting of classic names like the Awahnee Hotel.. Not a big fan of Aramark either...Delaware North was much the better steward of Yosemite. However, nobody "snuck" the patenting of the famous park names past anyone. Quotelilagray I have been trying to book a campsite for the past several days and it says there are some available but you cannot book. It is like the button is broken... So annoying. Perhaps there are not any available anyway... but it is frustrating when they show available and then you can't book it. This is for late March. Quoteshaunsmomo The new reservation site is absolutely terrible. They have so many mistakes and omissions that it is ridiculous. Most of the campgrounds no longer have campsite photos and the maps suck. It was by shear luck that I was able to get a week long site in Lower Pines in May. When I saw a couple of months ago that the reservation site that does most Federal campgrounds in the U.S. was re-doing their site I said to myself, "Oh no". And I was right. What a mess. Sites that were already taken were still listed as available. If you wanted to refresh the available sites page it took you back about 4 pages and you had to re-enter your dates. Quoteelectricone Looks like it will be wet next week. Any issues with camping in the valley? We've got campsites reserved and have camped in rain before but not thunderstorms. This shows projected river levels. You don't have to worry about flooding in the campgrounds unless the level hits 9.5 ft., and that's only in Lower and North Pines river sites. OK, that's good the tow vehicle is going elsewhere. You should, if you are adept at backing a trailer, get it in there. Here's a you tube video showing the approach to your campsite. It is on the left, the campsite just past the one with the green tent, On the video its about at time frame 4:46. That's going to be a tough, if not impossible, fit. A chart I have shows that pad is 23' deep by 10' wide. If your trailer is 19' then that only leaves 4' for your tow vehicle. The Park Service's practice has been that if both the trailer wheels and tow vehicle wheels are on the pad then its OK, it doesn't matter about the 12' restriction. But looking at the pics. and measurements of the pad Iby mtn man - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

Found a clarification on the Mono County Tourism Facebook. 120 will be opened from 395 to the Yosemite gate (near the east entrance station?) Monday 2pm. From there to 6 miles east of Crane Flat will still be closed. Quotegoalie22 Thanks Mtn_man! For anyone else who happens to have the same question, we fit in the site -- but just barely. Backing in wasn't much of an issue, just a tree across the road to keep an eye on. I had to park my tow vehicle horizontally in front of the trailer, and even then it was almost sticking out on the road. I'd say a 19 or 20ft trailer is max. for this site.
