Quotechick-on Don't have a picture... but found out someone stole the sign on March 1st. Do you mean the actual NPS wooden sign itself?! That's terrible, and along with the Ahwahnee sign that was stolen last year as well, who are these losers that would stoop so low?by PineCone - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
Quotechick-on Kind of looks like a giant chocolate truffle being rolled in sugar (and Mrs. JK Walking standing by, ready to eat it). Great photos , that's a whole lotta snow!by PineCone - Backpacking and Hiking Yosemite and the Sierra

Very nice trip report(s) and interesting reading from you as always, thank you for sharing. Regarding the photo below, I think you've hit upon a great idea for a Yosemite-themed clothing line! You should trademark it (before Delaware North does), and market it to the current concessionaire to sell in the Valley gift shops, at REI, etc.by PineCone - Backpacking and Hiking Yosemite and the Sierra
Reading some of these stories, I get the impression all a body has to do is wander off a short ways anywhere into the Yosemite backcountry, doesn't matter were or when, and Chick-on will magically appear coming down the trail (like a Genie, or a Leprechaun). I keep hoping I'll bump into him one day at the Hostess snack rack in the Village store, but hasn't happened yet.by PineCone - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
Quoteparklover and even the smell that draws me more. I'm sure you're referring to the wonderful aroma from the pizza at the Curry pizza patio (or in your case, the Village Loft)!by PineCone - Backpacking and Hiking Yosemite and the Sierra

Congratulations to you, what an accomplishment! Re: "We recently found pictures of me at Vernal Falls bridge when I was really young" - might be a good idea to show that to chick-on, so you get credit for any potential TrailQuest segment that might involve!by PineCone - Backpacking and Hiking Yosemite and the Sierra

mtn man, keep up the good work, I agree with everything you said (and do)! I like a morning devoid of smokiness also (nights too for that matter, some evenings you can gag on the smoke from the accumulation of all the campfires roaring away in the campground). I've never had the desire to have a morning campfire ever. I can't count the number of times over the years I have spotted still-smolderby PineCone - Backpacking and Hiking Yosemite and the Sierra

Ok, thanks, you've all got me intrigued enough to perhaps try that Crème Brulee, just to see what all the excitement is about! Mrs. JK Walking tipped me off on the Tom-Tom turkey sticks last year at Whole Foods, and I like those a lot, but actually finding the things in stock at the store is a challenge, they seem to be perpetually out of stock every time I look for them.by PineCone - Backpacking and Hiking Yosemite and the Sierra

QuoteDave Come to the annual Yosemite Facelift. It's on Public Lands Day which is Sept. 25th this year. They loan you some trash pickers, bags, and turn you loose to pick up all the trash you can find. You bring the trash back, they weigh it, and total it all up. One year they got over 20,000 pounds.
