Wow, very cool. My parents, years ago, were in London, I think, and found the same print from,. as I recall, a sidewalk print seller. With our shared love of all things Yosemite, they bought it for me (as well as another). And the seller then hand colorized the old black and white newspaper prints, to my parents specifications (e.g. "that rock is a light grey granite", etc.). They had tby Bearproof - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

Yes, yes, yes. The ridge north of Matthes Crest is quite accessible going up from either Matthes Lake, Echo Lakes, and while Echo Peaks are easy to get to from the Budd/Cathedral saddle It does get a little trickier getting from Echo Peaks on over to the ridge north of Matthes. Last year I came down from the ridge down the drainage east of the Cockscomb...I would avoid that one. Looked benign enby Bearproof - Backpacking and Hiking Yosemite and the Sierra

Hey Sophie The road is currently open to the OBOF trailhead and you should not have any trouble getting there. The Valley shuttles do not go there. You might be able to take the Tuolumne Meadows shuttle and get dropped off there (assuming that the shuttle is running at the end of June). I say "if running" because the Tioga Road may not be open yet. In which case you will also not beby Bearproof - Backpacking and Hiking Yosemite and the Sierra

Yeah I have heard of the Tuolumne Trek but it doesn't compare to the Chick-on Walk or the Basil Bop.by Bearproof - Backpacking and Hiking Yosemite and the Sierra
I am going to be there May 5-7 and the current long term weather report looks pretty good. It is a challenge this year with the record or near record snowfall that we have had to plan the hikes. But there are opportunities for sure. Some general notes: 1. The north side of the Valley gets all the sun and the hikes along there should be pretty much snow free, eg Yosemite Falls, Snow Creek Trailby Bearproof - Backpacking and Hiking Yosemite and the Sierra
Sierra Point would be awesome, but the approx.. 1500 ft climb and route finding over an abandoned trail make it iffy. On the other hand, the Glacier Point Road might be open...that would be spectacular but perhaps not exactly "off the beaten path". My vote would be for the Old Big Oak Flat Road which starts just west of El Cap. If you don't know it, its an abandoned road, so it is aby Bearproof - Backpacking and Hiking Yosemite and the Sierra
