I'm heading up to Hume Lake for some camping with the family. We've previously done the standard Sequoia NP sights, but haven't made it to King's Canyon at all. I was wondering if any of you helpful folks had suggestions for a short day hike with the kids (7 and 10).We can pretty readily do 3 mile hikes, and if there's water to play in along with views that helps with the young-uns. Any suggestioby Todd - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
I'm not going to delay. Given your responses and that we want to spend some time in Yosemite Valley, I think I'll stick with Curry Village for the couple of days prior. Thanks for the responses.by Todd - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
I'm doing the trip from TM to Glen Aulin and May Lake in a couple of weeks. I've got reservations at Curry Village for the two days prior; should I expect major problems with acclimation? I've been trying to get reservations at TM or White Wolf (or the TM campground), but no-one seems to be canceling. I like the idea of two nights in the Valley to show my buddy around and not need to drive for aby Todd - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
We stayed in Three Rivers 3 years ago. It was broilingly hot (110 F or so) at the bottom, but very pleasant in the higher elevations. We stayed for three nights, so two days activity in the park. With two young kids, we found the most fun we had was stopping to swim at a swimming hole along the drive up at a location a park ranger pointed us to. We had so much fun, we went back the second day forby Todd - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
