Congrats! Does the park service ever publish how many visitors to the website? Would be fun to know.by mswscco - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
Like you said, it looks like you can book those sites through the end of April and the remaining sites throug the middle of May. I guess they've never had any significant snow melt before May? The other thing that threw me off is that the site descriptions used to indicate which sites were at risk for being under water and may open later. Maybe those notes will be added for the next booking wiby mswscco - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
In the past, North Pines had some sites close to the river or creek that could not be reserved at all until the park knew they would not be flooded. Right now, however, it seems like all sites can already by reserved. Did something change, or are they just certain that none of the flooding will take place until after the currently available window (5/16/14)?by mswscco - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. The upcoming storm is getting worse. We're headed to Bass Lake tomorrow for 1 week and initially had a fairly full agenda doings hikes throughout the park, scenic byway, Nelder Grove, etc. It looks like nothing is going to be accessible except maybe the valley. Maybe we can bring sleds if there is snow play somewhere (provided there's enough snow)? Does anyone have recommendations regarding wby mswscco - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
Headed up to Yosemite this Saturday and was hoping with the expected dry winter that we'd get an unusually late closing of Tioga and Glacier Point Roads. I know it's just speculation, but do you all think the roads are closed for good? I saw today that they are closed and I imagine the upcoming storm will keep them that way for some time still.
