The road is clear up to the gate from 395. After that, the road is covered with about 5 or 6 inches into the park. Caltrans was working on clearing boulders, and I think they are almost done. If the partial federal governemnt shutdown enters day four, eastern California radio news director Stacey Powells will enter Yosemite National Park, whether it is open open or not. Public television station KCET reports that Powells plans to organize an "Occupy Yosemite Moment" on Friday afternoon. It's for real, its illegal, and it's not cool! Scalpers are buying up campsites, sometimes using computer programs to reserve sites before they come available, They then turn around and sell the campsites for exorbitant amounts on craigslist and other places.
