Very true. it is not like you are taking spaces away from the disabled. If they have a spot and wnat yours, they are free to swap.by michaelrosso - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
Thank-you Katies for the link!by michaelrosso - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
Based on the description, you are guaranteed a spot. You may be asked to swap but it appears highly unlikely since the disabled party must also have a campsite to swap with or an unoccupied site in the campground.by michaelrosso - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
I have never seen it either. Keep us posted on the current conditions there.by michaelrosso - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

I guess this is out of the question with a family member with a wheelchair. Maybe when grandpa is resting, I will get some alone time and I can go up the Mist Trail!by michaelrosso - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
My friends told me Mirror lake is mostly dried up. Will the big winter help?by michaelrosso - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
That is our plan. We have booked flights into Oakland airport and getting a wheelchair friendly rental van. We plan on exploring San Francisco for a day or two, and then head straight into Yosemite. I hear the drive is quiet pleasant.by michaelrosso - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
Yikes. Is that in the valley? It is not that expensive where I live yet. Are there gas stations near the valley?by michaelrosso - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
Haha. At first, I was wondering what the heck you were talking about. Now I understand. This will be my first time in Yosemite as well (as an adult, don't remember much as a toddler). I will keep note of these must sees and will check them out.by michaelrosso - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
Thanks for all the suggestions and ideas. I will definitely look into getting a lifetime pass for him. I don't think I will be able to afford a heavy scooter so I should work on my arms before the trip :-). We will probably stick to zero to no elevation hikes. I think just the fresh air will do him good. Just sitting on the shuttle and going around the loops might be good enough. I am gladby michaelrosso - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
We booked reservations for late August and glad according to you that some falls will be around.by michaelrosso - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
Is it advisable to take pictures? Will the bears approach us? Is it an issue if we run?by michaelrosso - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
Anybody know if it is going to be re-aired or online anywhere?by michaelrosso - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
Thank-you Nacci. I want to take my grandpa out of the house and travel a bit. Big cities are usually too difficult, and thought Yosemite might be worthwhile if I can at least push him around. I am sure there are a lot of great views from the valley and hoped that we would not be confined to the campsite.by michaelrosso - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
