Glad everyone liked the pictures. I hadn't planned on going behind the falls, it just sort of happened....but everything ***seemed safe***...no ice on the cliffs because the weahter was warm, water flow was low, and no wind to change the water fall and get me soaked. However, there appeared to be fresh rock fall everywhere. And by rockfall, I mean huge car sized pieces. There were some craterby bigd - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

Thanks for all the information everyone. I liked those home drawn maps at the stanford site....very old school and treasure island-ish (the book). Will definitely post of TR if/when I do the trip, though lot's of other trips planned too and baby on the way.by bigd - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
First time post, but long time backpacker/explorer. Speaking of Cherry Creek, has anyone accessed the West Fork Cherry Creek canyon/drainage from the logging roads around Hells Mountain (just north of Cherry Lake)? Am looking for a unique way to enter into the Emigrant Wilderness and Hyatt Lake in particular. I could call the ranger station and ask about those logging roads.
