May I make a suggestion? Yosemite Valley is an amazing place to be during stormy weather. If you have a way to camp to minimize exposure and dress for the weather, being in the Valley during a storm can be a transcendent experience. Pour offs from all kinds of nooks and cranny's. Low clouds, fog, etc. Stunning. My fondest memories are from stormy weather in Yosemite. Just sayin...Also, being nearby boomtown - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

Mirror Lake loop trail. Not too crowded once you pass Mirror Lake. Amazing views of Half Dome. If you are feeling adventurous, Hidden Falls is a short scramble up the south side of Tenaya Creek at the East end of the loop. I have no problem paying to visit the park. My problem is: Where does that money go? My understanding is that the money collected at each park does do not go back into that park. It goes into the US Government general fund to be spent however they see fit. That money should go into the Park System. Please correct me if I am wrong.by boomtown - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. Thanks. Wasn't able to camp this summer and did not want to break the Family streak of going to Yosemity every year (70 + years for my Mother, my son has been every year since he was 3 months old). Wasn't counting on skiing at Badger cause we only have 4 days but it would be nice. We have season passes in Tahoe so not a huge priority although it's on the bucket list. Thanks for the info. I just did it the old fashion way and called to make my reservations. It's interesting that this site: : https://www.nationalparkreservations.com/booking/new/2#.U6t2hpS-2Cd showed the family rooms available at a higher rate than DNC link. Quotequmqats considering mountain lions prey on coyotes, I'm surprised by the behavior of the lion had it never encountered coyotes before? was it spooked by the human presence? something else? You could try Bridalveil Creek CG and get FCFS for GP Trailhead and do the panorama to LYV or even bivy up on the ridge somewhere.
