After talking to one they agreed to "buy back" the bike for 70% of its original cost. He was only about 10 miles from the airport. I picked it up, rode it for 7 days and then returned it. Quotechick-on I'm wit you on this one. imho no question really. It's that crappy sandy section near Columbia Rock. (edit: act. I think it's slightly below Columbia Rock) (edit: btw... this is a win win... since if I'm completely and utterly full of it... I'll just delete this post) DING DING Chick-On is Spot-On. QuoteHalf Dome Hiker QuoteAtaim Here is an image taken with my little digital camera. For a "little camera" they look pretty good. What kind of camera did you use?! My little camera is a Nikon D3200. I hike with a Wista M450 monorail 4X5 film camera. When I'm close to the road (1/2 mile or less) I try and carry a Calumet C-1, green monster 8x10. QuoteDavidSenesac Your images are too dim, half to full stop probably because of usual use of an uncalibrated monitor. A way to get to ballpark levels is to edit your images so luminance is comparable to other images on this or other webs boards. Dave, I agree that having your monitor calibrated is a good thing, which mine is. The mood of all of the images shown was/is dark. This is the waby Ataim - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. Hey, I was there too. I was staing about 10 feet north or south of you. I had the 4x5 monorail. Now, however I'm back in FLAT Texas. It was a great evening for photography, but only about 20-30 people there.by Ataim - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
If I can get a permit my plan is to start at the trail head around noon, hike in with all of my gear to the ridge near the trail split for Natural Arch and set up camp. Then proceed to North Dome, take pictures of the moon rise over half dome on June 1st and return to camp. Stay the night there and then hike back out sometime the next day. So now for the questions.... Do I just basically camp aby Ataim - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

Well I wound up buying a Sawyer squeeze filter. Here in Texas the water does have some turbidity and I wanted a filter to could also use at home. My water source will not always be a clean as in the mountains. And it only weights 3 oz. Thanks for all of the advice.by Ataim - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

Very nice. That is from Columbia Rock correct? From the actual overlook or further up the trail? QuoteCalaveras What focal length lens are you planning on using on what camera? Half Dome is huge from North Dome and the moon will be tiny at any focal length that can cover all of Half Dome in one shot. I did a 200mm panoramic from North Dome and Half Dome was about 860 MB. My longest lens is a 500mm then 300 180 and 90 on my 4x5. Most likely I'll shoot it with the 300 or 500. The 500 isby Ataim - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
QuoteCalaveras . Just curious, why do you want to photograph the moon from North Dome? On May 30 and June 1 the near full moon will rise just to the left of half dome. If you wait until the 100% full moon it will too bright to have any detail in the shadows.
