Does anyone have an opinion as to whether the wool blankets provided by the HSC are sufficient enough to keep you warm and cozy even up at Vogelsang? Or is it recommended to bring your own down sleeping bag? I know the beauty of the HSC is you can travel light, but if that means being cold at night, it's not worth it to me. Thanks for the response. Do you happen to have a link to a map that would show the route you are suggesting? Also, do you have an estimate of how many miles to CR from the CR junction you refer to? My family and I are lucky enough to be heading to the High Sierra Camps this summer. We have one night at Sunrise, two at Merced, then two at Vogelsang. We really want to get to Clouds Rest but since we only have one night at Sunrise, we won't be able to make it a day hike.
