When we left Yosemite on 7/30, the line to enter was over 3 miles long.by Greno - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
We were asked the last Yosemite trip (a couple of years ago) how to get to Glen Aulin. I pointed down the drainage said it is that way and clearly marked on the map. They took a picture of my map after I insisted. I would imagine that my family is one of a small percentage that we have at least two compass and maps.by Greno - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. We are heading west on July 21 and will get to the valley on 7/22. I am very optimistic the road will be open and Yarts running. I am planning on leaving the rental car in TM and have a permit from DPP to TM. This snow is very stressful from across the country. I hope they get the road to DPP open as well!by Greno - Backpacking and Hiking Yosemite and the Sierra
We are coming through Yosemite week of July 22. We were going to pick up our supply there as we have done before. Will the Post Office in the Valley hold packages or should we pony up and pay the checked bag fee for the two bear cans of food?by Greno - Backpacking and Hiking Yosemite and the Sierra
We rode the free hiker bus back to our rental car at cathedral lakes the and the shuttle around stops on Tioga Rd. Both drivers said to comment to the superintendent as they were being ceased. I guess the more people that comment may make a difference as it is a needed service due to lack of parking .by Greno - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
We ran into a bear girl last week coming into LYV. We spoke with her for a while. She was looking specifically for a bear that I had seen and taken a picture of the day before. She let the kids use her locator to try and see if it was in range. It had a collar. She said they had a ton of untagged yearlings and were very worried that they were learning bad habits too fast.by Greno - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
