You can do 8 days if you repackage your food. Breakfasts, put all your oatmeals in one bag bulk style. This takes up very little room. Dinners, Mountain House or other brands you can repackage in sandwich bags. For Lunches concentrate on foods with little air space. I've never done the north rim before so this year I'm heading to Porcupine Flat, North Dome, Yosemite Point, Eagle Peak, El Capitain, and down to the valley via the Falls trail. I know Tioga Pass Road opens up when the snows are cleared in the spring, but I was wondering, how far can you drive up from the west before it's open in say April? Do they close it just past Crane Flat? I would like to drive to Porcupine Flat in about Aprilby losthillsguy - General Discussion
