Quoteh_lankford Yes, NeoAir is crinkly " I heard you tossing and turning all night" said my cousin tenting 30 feet away. But Neoair not only saves weight, it saves space. I formerly strapped my Thermorest outside, now the small NeoAir fits easily inside. What do I use where it is really cold? Quotetanngrisnir3 This is getting to almost surreal levels of stupidity. They should change the name to "Darwin Falls". Please remember that the loved ones who have lost their child (we are all 'children' to our elders) almost always make their way to the forums during their worst moments of grief. I think that the whole idea of a "camp" is flawed, as it immediately poses food, waste disposal, bathroom, & hygene issues right from the start. I have advocated (locally) for use of the shut-down military base housing to be used as sort of a quasi YMCA/homeless dormitory. The cafeteria & large scale facilities are already in place. Perhaps counseling could be introduced. When Iby Bee - General Discussion

Yosemite Junior Ranger Returns Two Sticks to the Park When visiting a national park, one should always leave things exactly as they were. Hats off to Evie, a junior ranger at Yosemite National Park, for living the motto. Continuing with my objective of seeing all the Big Tree groves in Yosemite. Tuolumne Grove is easier to get to (the road is shorter with very little grade) so there were families and casual walkers taking in the trees. Even with the new snow, the trail was patchy, icy, and easily managed by microspike (absolutely no need for snowshoes). Once again, I was not disappointed. QuoteFrank Beautiful! I love the big trees. I feel some sort of reverence, awe and mystery in their presence. They are comforting for the soul! Especially nice because there was no screaming voices, car doors, or any other racket. The lighting was superb, too: slightly broken overcast, so that there was no snow glare, yet the contour of the bark was well-lit.by Bee - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
I have always thought of Super Bowl weekend as the Great Outdoors Un-Official Holiday. In the past, I have practically owned ski resorts, parks, lakes, etc., 'cause everyone else was at the store buying munchies.
