There's fish in the creek here and there... So yes, there's always some water in the creek. How it is looking is perhaps another story. And yes, there may be stretches where you don't see any.by chick-on - Backpacking and Hiking Yosemite and the Sierra
That's really cool. Some people just like to walk. For giggles... looked in Gaia because I have a lot of my gps tracks from over the years... And since they are in folders they do all the math for me (well I had to do a little bit) In Yosemite only... 2009-2016 (I haven't put last few years into folders) Over 7300 miles on a "few" trips So I guess I walked New York Cityby chick-on - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. Sorry so late in response to this. Yeah, you should definitely just stay on trail. PM me and I'll say what I really think. QuoteSteveHall Hey chick-on (or anybody else), do you think this route would be passable as far as creek crossings go if I went ahead and did it in late June? I'd like to go when there is something left to see at Waterwheel Falls. Also, are the side trips to Le Conte Point and Rancheria Mountain summit worthwhile? Sorry didn't respond until now. Wow. Thanks. Yeah. It's been a pretty rough year. Well. It was pretty nice to start with in Jan and start of Feb then it kind of went not so great. And then Coronavirus hit … sigh... Healthy and happy though. But missing the mountains for sure. Hope everyone else is doing well. I was going to make some videos of old trips and such and post them but … I dunno. Unless it's a trivial route you won't know unless YOU go with YOUR group. You should always be prepared to turn around, scope out ahead for your group, help your group through difficult sections, and decide enough is enough. You should also take care of everyone in your group and know exactly where you are at all times (there's no excuse really for this in this day and age imo anymore). QuotePineCone Mr. chick-on, I too was very saddened by the murdering of said Sequoia trees. I had enjoyed their beauty for many years, and while bicycling about the Valley I would always stop by to admire them and pay them a visit. Ok. Cool. Yosemite is Better This was my issue with publishing a route: "There were about 20 entries this year, all citing the YHR, including 5 or so thru hikes, a pretty big increase in visitation for this minor peak." Why I quit putting detailed things on the internet. And stopped posting trip reports. And why I was a bit irked for what I deem a money grab.
