Apparently it was a selfie thing. They were good natured, well traveled. Liked to take photos of dramatic scenery at sunset. That's probably what they were doing. It was getting dark, and at least one of them lost their bearings or balance. Took the other person with them. A tripod was discovered the following morning by hikers. Just too bad.by Ohnivy-Drak - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

I remember reading about that camera incident at GP. Not sure if I read it in the Death book, or an article in a newspaper. GP can really be a zoo. There will always be individuals wandering off towards the Overhanging Rock. Rangers can only do so much. I've seen them shaking their heads as they walk towards tourists to warn them or get them to come back.by Ohnivy-Drak - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

I know it's officially "c". But they should at least name the others. And what a great resource closedcontours is. Love seeing DODA. Never heard of the ones to the west, Dark Side and Lava. Loving the map. USGS: until they put the Eagle marker back, they should be defunded.by Ohnivy-Drak - Backpacking and Hiking Yosemite and the Sierra
"d" should be the real dome, about 200 feet higher. "c" doesn't make sense IMO.by Ohnivy-Drak - Backpacking and Hiking Yosemite and the Sierra
Quotechick-on QuoteOhnivy-Drak Does (a) = Drug Dome? No, that's not Drug. Drug is due North of Mariuolumne. follow the line up from (b) and it's about in line with the "11".
