They're bound to be right on this one.......sooner or later.by ERICG - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
I've stayed in the Bryce Canyon Grand Lodge just outside the main gate many times and always had great service there. Have stayed in Page many times. There is a visitors center at Glen Canyon Dam with great views of the dam or you can just park on either side of the bridge right across from the dam for some good photo op's. I haven't taken a boat/kayak on Lake Powell so I can't help there. Anteloby ERICG - General Discussion

For me: 1) Yosemite. I can't believe that there is a more beautiful place on Earth! 2) Zion. It has such unique geography/geology from the Main (Zion) Canyon to the Kolob Canyons. 3) Grand Canyon. Each time I go there it's like the first time. It's so big there is always someplace new to explore.by ERICG - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
Thanks for the info. I knew there was a topic on this discussion board but couldn't remember when I read it. Can't believe its been almost 10 years since the slide. Looks like the completion of the repair is still quite as ways off.by ERICG - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
Over Christmas I came in on the 140 (normally use the 41) and was surprised the slide area looks the same as last time I came in (3-4 years ago) on this road. Is there a Funding/Engineering issue? Just wondering.by ERICG - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
Quotechick-on QuoteERICG I'm looking at going into the valley on Christmas Day. I'll be coming in on the 140. Looks like snow in the forecast and was wondering if I need assistance (old guy) is there anywhere near the Arch Rock Entrance that might help install chains? I have seen install crews at the Cascade Creek area... (where you put on chains on 140 typically) .. just west of Cascade Fallby ERICG - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

Watched it last night. Sure, it talks about the rebellion & craziness that went on, but I took it as more of the evolution of climbing techniques in the big wall climbing arena. Really enjoyed it!by ERICG - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

QuoteThe Other Tom I'm uneducated on this. Does this mean a good chance of snow in the sierra or a lesser chance ? I think it implies a better chance of rain/snow going forward. We could really use it as it looks like we are going to have another dry winter.by ERICG - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
