I just saw the progress report on plowing from the west. They are already at the Olmsted Point parking lot.by Louis - General Discussion
Also, according to the Mono Lake web site, Tioga Road will be opened from the east all the way to Tioga Lake by April 27th.by Louis - General Discussion
Early this morning the Tioga Pass web cam showed the road covered again by snow from the last couple of storms. I just looked a few minutes ago and it appears Caltrans has been through and re-plowed it.by Louis - General Discussion
A fair sized storm is supposed to drop some snow in Yosemite on Wednesday and Wednesday night. This might be a chance to get some good late season snow pix in the valley. That is if the snow level drops low enough.by Louis - General Discussion
I would say the prospect of seeing both Hwys 108 and 4 opening early is quite good. Possibly within the next couple of weeks.by Louis - General Discussion
This indicates Caltrans has at least one lane plowed all the way up from the first gate near Hwy 395. Wow!by Louis - General Discussion
By golly they sure did. When I looked at it first thing this morning it wasn't plowed. It looks like Caltrans has been busy on the east side.by Louis - General Discussion
I don't know if Yosemite is in line for the brunt of this storm but we are getting heavy snow at Tahoe right now.by Louis - General Discussion
Hwy 108 is a great road. Since it's closer to where I live than Yosemite I go up there often during the summer. I doubt it will be open until sometime in May though. Especially with the late season storms that keep coming through. Louisby Louis - General Discussion
According to Caltrans Hwy 89 over Monitor Pass is already open. The storm will probably close it again temporarily.by Louis - General Discussion
I'm thinking the high country must have gotten a ton of it. We got a lot at Tahoe.by Louis - General Discussion
Thanks for posting the pictures. I can almost feel that cold wind.by Louis - General Discussion
This last Wednesday I went in via Tioga Pass but didn't go all the way down to the valley. The best colors I saw were outside of the park, east of Tioga, along Lee Vining Creek. The Aspens there were outstanding.by Louis - General Discussion
