OK, since nobody has, I'll go ahead and finish the story. After my guy did his rescue act, he told the Park Ranger that he was just getting to Yosemite, and didn't really have a plan. He just came to clear his mind of some things, and would make it up as he went. "Let me make a phone call", was the Ranger's reply. Thanks to his heroism, Yosemite set him up with "anythinby AnotherDave - General Discussion
http://www.modbee.com/news/article171313467.html Trying to be brief.... On Wednesday, 9/6, while descending the Half Dome cables, I struck up a conversation with a young man who was right behind me. What a story he told.... On the prior Sunday, he was one of the first to arrive at the scene of a tree falling onto a car, crushing it and a pair of occupants. He entered the car through thby AnotherDave - General Discussion

A few years ago, in the dead of summer, I did the Snow Creek/Natural Arch/North Dome/Eagle Peak route. Some thoughts? -During the drought of droughts, Snow Creek and Lehamite both had water. Could be a torrent now. -Natural Arch is a hidden gem in a place full of hidden gems -Eagle Peak has knee buckling views and NO guardrail. Do be careful Sounds like a great hike.by AnotherDave - Backpacking and Hiking Yosemite and the Sierra
I've said it before-the last 30 feet of the Sierra Pt. hike might be the coolest stretch of trail that I've found in Yosemite. Lucky you.by AnotherDave - Backpacking and Hiking Yosemite and the Sierra

I can't comment on snow/trail conditions this year, but.... Mist trail-Nevada Fall-LYV-Merced Lake and back is in the 25-30 mile ballpark, but not as tough as it sounds. Lots of sights and sounds, and worth every step.by AnotherDave - Backpacking and Hiking Yosemite and the Sierra

By making his name on the big walls and going on to become one of the better kayakers of his era, Robbins exhibited a seemingly unquenchable thirst for adventure. Perhaps he drew inspiration from another multi-talented athlete who went before him. Ted Williams was arguably the best baseball player/hitter to ever play, and he served his country as a fighter pilot in WWll AND Korea. Of coby AnotherDave - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. Cooooooooooooooooooool! A couple observations: 1) It seems a bit odd that a hike can't start at Curry or that Majestic place. 2) You can't include EVERY destination in the park, but it would be interesting to have off-trail spots like OMG Point, Sierra Pt., Diving Board , etc. accessible. Somehow. 3) As Mr. Pink mentioned, the time thing doesn't seem to be needed. Overall, this is aby AnotherDave - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

A few points: 1) That was the first WHOA sign I've ever seen. 2) You mention trail runners. I once saw a Youtube clip featuring a trail running club in Yosemite. They ran from Tenaya Lake to Clouds Rest, downhill to Nevada Fall, up the Panorama Trail to Glacier Pt., and down the Pohono Trail to Tunnel View. Obviously, beer guts are not allowed in that club. 3) I always enjoy pictures ofby AnotherDave - Backpacking and Hiking Yosemite and the Sierra
