I follow several people who visit the park regularly. Since I can't go often, I find it very enjoyable to see videos and pictures from the park. One such person is Ando2chill. He has been hiking in the park at least once a month for something like 2 years now. Much of his content is posted in his stories, so you need to login everyday to see what he is up to. Quoteeeek Quotehotrod4x5That was the one destroyed in the great flood of '97? It was certainly damaged in the flood. Could easily have been repaired. Yeah, but at great expense. Every bear box, restroom, and dumpsters were destroyed if I recall correctly. But they definitely need more sites.by hotrod4x5 - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

Quoteklsmith1953 I'm wondering what the latest news is regarding entrance times to the park? I'm heading in around 11 a.m. on Saturday August 5 headed for TM. How have the lines been? Is the El Portal entrance and the Big Oak Flat entrance about the same level of crowds? I've got a Senior Pass. Thanks, Ken How were the lines?by hotrod4x5 - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. Parklover: if that is the spot I am thinking of, by Mirror Lake, that rock garden was huge the last time I saw it. QuoteCoolburn Hi Balzaccon, I appreciate your service and your experience. I don't pretend, I read. According to the National Park service, in the article I quoted: "hey all have the same rule: If you come across a cairn, do not disturb it. Don’t knock it down or add to it." Your quarrel is not with me, I'm simply pointing out the rule according to the national park serby hotrod4x5 - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

Coolburn: It is very easy to tell the difference between trail cairns and those built for recreational purposes. Your quote specifically says do not build them.
