It's still "just" The Merced there. Lyell Fork and Triple Peak Fork are further upstream
beyond Washburn. If you look at your map more... amazingly it doesn't even
have any falls marked on the Lyell Fork. When the water is really flowing that
is something to see. I'll stick up a photo when I get more time.
Probably the dawg is interested so her

Ok, I'm trying to sort out the photos posted. The Chick must be at the falls on the lower left of the topo below but the original photo was from Bunnell Point, right?
Quotechick-on
O boy. You're gonna kick yourself.
Yes, first photo is Bunnell Point.
The falls photos are Vernal.

How about this location:
(even if wrong, what is the name of the falls on the topo)
Back to my original off topic comment: Anyone know about the name of the falls noted on the topo? I think the stream is the Lyell Fork of Merced River.
Can't help you there. I even checked some trail hiking books which make no mention of those falls,

Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion There is also Soda Spring at Glen Alpine near Fallen Leaf Lake just next to S. Lake Tahoe.
(we got a kick out of the signs that said "So Lake Tahoe" )
I don't recommend tasting the water...

Should be easy now:
Photo taken from Bunnell Point. On the right is an unamed dome. Beyond that is Moraine Dome. On the left is Cascade Cliffs.

Correcto.
You can also see: Starr King, Liberty Cap, Mt. Broderick, Sentiel Dome, El Cap, and Half Dome
Billy Dome, the dome between Moraine and Bunnell has a cascade just below it. If you still have

Chick-on,
Where does it say "Guess where I am."?
Old Guy,
The Mule Boy is chomping at the bit to say "shrinkage!" (muy frio) or Caliente!
(regardless... you not allowed to guess since me thinks we told you)

For trail information, conditions, and locations, ask Bee.

I thought the old guy was talking about El Capitan.
But, hey, thanks for all the great guesses on "Bird with a View"

Quotechick-onI found the trail incredibly simple to find and equally easy to follow.
I remember wrong and got started by the spring. Later I realized it starts by the trail coming up from were the foot bridge was.
It's even easier than that actually. Go to the "Rock Piles" sign... turn left. Look for ducks.
Look for arrow on tree after working your way thru boulder fiel

Quotechick-oneeekie, why you no list "Sierra Point" as your Favorite Secret Place?
Perhaps it's because my hand still hurts from all the falling down.
Two words: Hiking Sticks
Better two words: find trail

Chick-on,
We were originally planning on following the ridge all the way to Tuolumne, a traverse I've wanted to do for a year. But snow conditions on the north side were HARD and slick, and neither of us had bothered to bring crampons. Poop. Well, you live, you learn. I'll be back there next summer for another shot. Besides, that road out to 120 is LONG at the end of the day!
